Description

Hugh Hefner’s progressive legacy hinges on sexual liberation and anti-racism. As radical feminists confront Hefner on TV and Black people start appearing in Playboy, Hefner’s justice-minded image invites scrutiny. How much of it is just for show—and profit?

With Jeannie Bell, one of the first Black women to appear in the magazine; Walter Lowe, Playboy’s first Black editor; and Diane Crothers of the New York Radical Feminist Group.

Power is a Somethin’ Else production with Sony Music Entertainment.

What a shame you felt it necessary to bring 'trans women' into it. They have nothing to do with Hefner, Playboy or 2nd wave feminism. This is historical revisionism. It has no more place in this story than Al Jolson does in the story of the fight for racial equality.
